Flashcards are wonderful memory aid tool, if they are used effectively. A child can learn and memorise new words quickly using flashcards. It focus only one important element at a time, what a child needs to learn.
According to a research, you should flash the cards at a rate of 0.5 seconds per card. The information will be absorbed unconsciously by the right brain. The fast speed of flashing sends strong vibrations to the brain. So helps your kid’s brain to develop better and faster.
- Choose a time when you and your child are happy.
- Choose a quite environment.
- If your child is ready to recognise and read the word, then you can play some games by hiding the word or picture.
- If your child cannot read the word, you can give some clues by showing the pictures.
- Finally stop before your child wants to stop. This help to sustain interest in learning.
- Repetition and revision is important for your child in remembering the words and pictures effectively.
