What is Evening Star?
The evening stars are not stars are at all, in fact they are planets Venus and Mercury.
Venus can sometimes be seen close to the western horizon shortly after the sunset. When it is on the other side of the Sun it can be seen for a while before sunrise above the eastern horizon, then it is known as morning star. Like all the planets, Venus does not shine, but reflects the light of the Sun.
Mercury is also sometimes called as evening or morning star. They can be seen from the Earth only when at their farthest east or west of the Sun. When they are closer in they are too faint to be seen.
Do you Know?
